ENVIRONS KIMBERLEY ANNOUNCES A NEW BUNUBA AND WALMAJARRI CHAIRPERSON

Environ’s Kimberley welcomed a new Indigenous chairperson, a former ranger based in Fitzroy Crossing.

Walmarjarri and Bunuba woman Natalie Davey was named the new chairperson of Environ’s Kimberley, a conservation organization that monitors the environment throughout the Kimberley’s.

Ms. Davey said she wants to go out and find out what people are working in different parts of the country.

“I came from the Fitzroy River. My jarriny (birth totem) is barramundi, the foundation of my connection and responsibility to the country. For half my life EK has stood strongly and successfully to protect Country; it feels right to continue looking after Country by joining this conservation group”.
