WILLIAMS AND GHOUSE GET A WAMI

They have won WA’s top gong for Indigenous music several times before, but this time Gina Williams and Guy Ghouse won it while they were touring the UK.
They were named Indigenous Act of the Year at a the Western Australian Music Industry’s WAMI awards in Perth on Tuesday.
The Wadjuk-Kija singer and her Cingalese accompanist from Broome said they woke up to the good news.
“We feel very honoured and grateful for the love and support that continues to nurture us on this incredible journey Guy and I are on,” Williams said.
“Congratulations to all the other nominees, it’s been a really tough couple of years and I’m just happy we are all still here.”
