BAGGAGE HANDLER STOOD DOWN

A baggage handler has been stood down while his employer investigates video footage of him abusing people’s luggage at Karratha Airport on Sunday.

He is seen carelessly tossing suitcases onto a baggage cart and more than once angrily throwing them down with some force.

A Qantas spokesman said they were disappointed with the behaviour in the video which a passenger posted on social media.

“We’ve raised it with our ground handling contractor for urgent action,” he said.

“The ground handler in the video has been stood down while they investigate.”

Ngaarda Media has attempted to contact baggage contractor, Menzies Aviation, for comment.
