PORT HEDLAND MAYOR CANDIDATE ENCOURAGES PEOPLE TO SIGN UP FOR VOTING IN THE UPCOMING LOCAL ELECTIONS

The local elections will be held on October 16 in Port Hedland this year to fill the role of mayor as well as four councilor vacancies.

We spoke to mayor-candidateGloria Jacob who encourages all those to vote.

“Enrol to vote to make sure you’re up to date… You vote for people who are passionate about this community”.

She said more people need to understand that expertise is needed on council and that council should be able to communicate effectively what their community wants.

“Many people in this community don’t get the right to vote.
