An outpouring of sympathy for the family of 15-year-old Cassius Turvey continues after his alleged murder in Perth.

Aboriginal people are announcing candlelight vigils at a growing number of towns across Australia.

Noongar woman Mariah Hansen is organising a candlelight tribute at Tom Price this coming Wednesday.

“I just want to put out that everybody is behind the family of this young boy,” she said. “I hope that they do get the justice that they deserve and they are definitely all in our prayers at this sad time.”

Mirriwong community advocate Nawoola Loonmi is organising one for Kununurra on Monday evening outside Kununurra courthouse and another rally on Wednesday.

“That’s to support Cassius’ mum who has said that Halloween was his favourite event of the year,” she said. “So that’s why she’s requesting that the communities deliver candlelight vigils to support the family on Halloween.”

Ms Loonmi said Warmun community was also holding a Monday vigil at Turkey Creek.

Another Monday event is planned for Midland, 

Everyone is also invited to a candlelight vigil at the Roebourne School Oval on Wednesday at 6pm.

Other Wednesday events are planned for Broome, Tom Price, Perth, and Albany, and interstate at Darwin, Alice Springs, Sydney, Wollongong and Eden.
