QUAD BIKE KID’S NARROW ESCAPE

Roebourne police say a child riding a quad bike was almost killed cutting across the path of a road train a few days ago.
Senior Sergeant Dale Harmer urged parents who had bought dirt bikes and quad bikes for their kids to make sure they rode them safely.
“We had a very near miss where one has shot in front of a truck,” he said. “The kids don’t seem to be taking into consideration that those road trains will leave a fairly large mess if they hit the kids. All we’re asking is just keep off the roads, stay on the tracks and make sure you’ve got a helmet on and maybe some shoes would be a good start.”
