MASSACRE COMMEMORATED
Yesterday Traditional Owners and friends came from as far away as Perth to remember all those who died in the Flying Foam Massacre at Murujuga, the Burrup Peninsula.
Organiser Audrey Cosmos said it was important for the annual event to continue so children would know about it.
“It needs to be recognised in the schools as part of our history and definitely brought into their curriculum,” she said. “And for future information about this place because it’s very significant.”
