HISTORIC UNDERWATER ROCK ART FOUND BY NGURRANGGA TOURS FOUNDER CLINTON WALKER
Ngarluma and Yindjibarndi Ngurrangga Tours founder Clinton Walker was walking along with the beach hunting for mud crabs with his cousin when he stumbled upon an underwater rock art.
The rock art is a set of kangaroo prints and is the first discovered underwater piece of rock art in Australia.
Mr Walker said the discovery is historic, and he judged the art to be around 5-10 000 years old
Mr Walker said the find was game-changing.
“From an Aboriginal point of view, we have more evidence to say we have rights over our coastal country”.
The rock art will be observed by archeologists in the upcoming months.
