STAMP SERIES TO HONOUR INDIGENOUS LAND CARE

Illustrator Andrew Hopgood has collaborated with Australia Post to create a series of postage stamps depiction Indigenous land care. 

The stamp series will honour and depict land management by Indigenous Rangers Programs in the Northern Territory. 

Indigenous Land and Sea Council Board Chairperson and Yorta Yora man Ian Hamm said stamp series shows the good work of First Nations Rangers. 

“In this case, they are looking to highlight the really good work done by the Indigenous Ranger group,” he said.

“To show Aboriginal people caring for country, their involvement with country and how successful this ranger program is.

“So by Australia Post doing this it, its demonstrating that Aboriginal custodianship has continued for 60,000 years, continues today and will continue into the future.”
