CROCODILE SIGHTING AT DE GREY, PORT HEDLAND

Locals have spotted a large crocodile in De Grey, Port Hedland.

Degrasse is usually a place where locals like to go fishing and have a few cold ones.

Jeremy Sammy, a local from Port Hedland noticed the crocodile on the river bank and believes it was between 5 to 6 metres long.

“I heard humours but that is the first time I’ve seen it myself,” he said.

“Stay away from the water.”

Azmin Taylor was on a normal Sunday fishing trip at De Grey when he spotted the crocodile yesterday afternoon.

“We stopped fishing and got more distracted by the crocodile,” he said.

There are no signs to indicate that there is potential crocodiles in the area which is concerning for the locals.

“Sometimes you see crocodile tracks so that might warn you a bit.”

“I don’t think I’m gonna jump in that water ever again.”
