The death of Ngemba man Frank Coleman in Sydney’s Long Bay Correctional Complex has brought deaths in custody back into the public sphere.
Ex-candidate for the mayor of Port Hedland Ngarluma and Torres Strait Islander woman Telona Pitt said she is wary about the Indigenous Voice to Parliament and has said it is an advisor body, with no veto or jurisdiction to actually make decisions and laws in regards to Aboriginal people.
