VOICE TO PARLIAMENT HOT TOPIC AT NATIONAL ETHNIC BROADCASTERS’ CONFERENCE
At the National Ethnic and Multicultural Broadcaster’s Council (NEMBC) Conference held in Sydney this week, the Voice to Parliament was a hot topic of conversation.
Ngaarda Media’s Chez Coulthard was the only Aboriginal person in attendence, and said it was good to hear a range of views on the Voice.
He said one attendee had concerns the Voice would “divide the nation even further.”
Mr Coutlhard said he told the conference: “The nation’s already been divided for years.”
“What shocked me the most was that I was sitting in a room full of ethnic broadcasters and these were all different races who at some time have faced discrimination, so I thought they would have our back,” he said.
