Preparations are underway for the second Jamba Nyinayi cultural festival to be held next month on Baiyungu Country on the Ningaloo coast.

Artists on the lineup include Stephen Pigram, David Milroy, Lucky Oceans, Kankawa Nagarra (Olive Knight), Razzy Mak, Fred Ryan, and The Jamba Nyinayi Band.

Music, dance, culture, and food will be shared at Cardabia Station, which is owned by the Baiyungu people.

The festival’s Cultural Curator and Director, Baiyungu Elder Hazel Walgar said ‘Jamba Nyinayi’ translates as ‘come sit with us’.

“This year looks better, bigger,” she said.

“We’re looking at big mob of people, and us Traditional Owners, we know that Ningaloo has always been a gathering place.”

“Ningaloo attracts many people, and for us Traditional Owners, we’re proud to share traditional country with the world.”

The festival takes place from 11-13 April. The event is free but registration is required. Limited camping spots are available at Cardabia Station.
