A Maori man and his Torres Strait Islander husband tied to knot last month, all thanks to Tinder.

Through its ‘Big Tinder Wedding’ initiative, the dating app pays for the weddings of selected couples who’ve met via the platform.

Torres Strait Islander man Will and Maori man Monte has a Big Tinder Wedding in Sydney in February.

Before the couple met on Tinder, Monte was told by a psychic he’d meet the love of his life before the next full moon. Sure enough, he soon met Will.

“I did leave him on ‘read’ for a little bit on Tinder, but we actually met up in person in Helensvale,” Monte revealed.

“I was greeted with a beautiful smile and those beautiful sparkling blue eyes, and from thereon we just hit it off.”

Will said the wedding ceremony was a special occasion.

“Family and friends say its been the best wedding they’ve ever been to: memories that will last forever.”
