TWO PEOPLE STUCK IN BUSH FOR 4 DAYS, ONE DIED

A man has died while a woman walked to safety following their car breaking down and spending four days in the bush in the Pilbara.

Onslow Police believe the two people went out in their vehicle last Sunday night or early Monday morning about 120 kilometres from Onslow and 20 kilometres down Mount Stuart Road.

According to Police their vehicle broke down and both persons remained at their vehicle for four days attempting to find food and water.

Onslow Police Senior Sergeant Dan Acres said the 44 year old male passed away due to what they believe to be an underlying medical issue as well as a lack of water and food.

Sergeant Acres said the woman was rescued on Saturday.

“The female walked out onto Mount Stewart Road and was located by a member of the public who notified the police, whereby we did a search and found the man that afternoon, and recovered the body,” he said.
