KUNUNURRA HIT BY SPATE OF ATTEMPTED POLICE CAR RAMMINGS

The East Kimberley town of Kununurra has experienced a wave of car thefts over the past week, with offenders using the vehicles to attempt to ram police cars. 

Charges have been laid after at least four cars were stolen in Kununurra over the past week.

Kununurra Police Senior Sergeant Neil Van De Plank said his officers had taken evasive action on all occasions and were able to avoid damage to their cars and injury.

“We’ve had one very sort of night or so,” he said.

“I’ve had three personally where I’ve almost been hit.”
