REGIONAL FOOTBALL SPECIALIST GOES PINK TO RAISE MONEY FOR BREAST CANCER
Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer among women in Australia.
Its incidence is increasing - with 1 in 7 Australian women and about 1 in 600 Australian men expected to be diagnosed in their lifetime.
Pilbara Regional Football Specialist, Vicki Agnew, has been wearing and accessorising Pink every day for this whole month to raise money for the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
She has even dyed her hair pink and is loving how bright it is.
“I’m not a pink person, pink is not my colour but I have fallen in love with it,” she said.
If Ms Agnew reaches her goal of $10,000, then on the 1st of July she will shave her head.
Ms. Agnew has personal experiences dealing with loved ones that have experienced that disease which has led her to raise money for the cause.
“If I can do something to help future research whether that’s treatments, surgeries or detection while I can I will do it.”
