QUEER AUSTRALIA CELEBRATED TODAY
The International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Intersex Discrimination and Transphobia, or IDAHOBIT, is being celebrated by over half a million Australians today who will stand against queer discrimination.
Adnyamathanha yura artu trans-activist sistergirl Charlotte Coulthard said though much progress has been made since the 1990s, the queer community still faces discrimination.
“While IDAHOBIT has evolved over the years the purpose has remained the same: to celebrate the progress that we had made while raising awareness of the discrimination that LGBTIQA+ people still face today”, she said.
