A mentoring program for First Nations Content Creators was launched by a group of communications and media companies yesterday.

Publis Groupe, Herd MSL, and Born Bred have collaborated on the Program which aims to combat under-representation of First Nations content creators.

The program will provide flights and accommodation to events in major cities, tutoring, upskilling, and networking opportunities for First Nations content creators.

Gamilaraay Kamilaroi man and TV presenter Matty Mills is sitting on the Born Blak Advisory Panel and said the program will provide opportunities for Indigenous content creators.

“There are so many great blackfellas creating content out there,” he said.

“Sometimes their content doesn’t go as far as it should.”

“They don’t have the opportunity to connect with larger organisations, like PR or marketing companies.

“It is really about connecting them with the industry, but also confidence building by helping them create relationships.”
