POLICE ASSAULTED AT UNRULY PARTY

In the Pilbara, two police officers were injured and taken to hospital after investigating a noise complaint at a Wickham house on the weekend. 

“On arrival they observed 20 to 30 people behaving disorderly, highly intoxicated,” Roebourne acting Senior Sergeant Deb Andrews said. “Officers went in to have a chat to a number of people and they started to have bottles and other projectiles thrown at them. “

She said 21 officers from Roebourne and Karratha police then attended.

“It was also a liquor restricted premises,” acting Senior Sergeant Andrews said. “Which is of grave concern to us considering the amount of alcohol that was there.”

Sgt Andrews said Police were now studying body cam footage to identify the offenders prior to issuing arrest warrants.
