PILBARA FIFO WORKER TESTS POSITIVE TO COIVD

A Pilbara FIFO worker has tested positive to covid 19.

He received the confirmation from WA Health at the Karratha hospital last night.

The patient is a male in his 40s and has been double vaccinated.  He was due for his third booster shot this week.

The FIFO worker, who wants to remain anonymous, says covid is coming and people need to be prepared.

He said he had been working night shift and has not been visiting local pubs and restaurants.

”I felt my body shutting down so that two o'clock took myself to the Karratha hospital to get myself checked out.

but the funny thing is I went with  just a headache an aching body and the next day, I woke up and had a runny nose and a cough that I never had when I first went into the hospital.”

“WA Health asked me if I went to all these sites and I said no and I if I have been in contact with people that has had it and I said ‘no I haven’t’.”

The FIFO worker involved is isolating for seven days.
