PILBARA FASHION ON SHOW IN NEW YORK

An Aboriginal designer from the Pilbara showcased her fashion label in New York yesterday.

Ngarluma, Kariyarra, Nyulnyul and Yawuru fashion designer Bobbi Lockyer displayed the “Saltwater” collection from her Gantharri label at New York Fashion Week.

Ms Lockyer closed her show by walking down the runway with an Aboriginal flag, alongside First Nations creative Skye Lockyer.

Both artists wore ochre and went barefoot to represent their connection to country.
