YINDJIBARNDI GHOST STORY WITH NATHAN GRAY
The Marlaangu Project has come to an end in the Pilbara and it tells Yindjibarndi ghost stories from ancient times.
Artist, Nathan Gray has been working with Juluwarlu Aboriginal Corporation to produce contemporary ghost stories collected from Yindjbiarndi people.
EMMA GARLETT ON CULTURAL HERITAGE LAWS
The Pastoralists and Graziers Association of WA has launched a parliamentary e-petition asking for the Act to be delayed by six months, because land users are not prepared for the legislative changes.
It has been signed by more than 28,000 people.
First Nations legal academic Emma Garlett believes there has been plenty of time for people to understand the act and offer feedback.
KARIYARRA HERITAGE DAMAGED AT TWO MILE RIDGE
Kariyarra Aboriginal Corporation has said significant heritage sites were damaged in Port Hedland earlier this month.
CEO Nic Green said the art site was damaged by work from the Town of Port Hedland and the Water Corporation.
The Town of Port Hedland said it is conducting an internal investigation into the incident and it is willing to cooperate with external authorities.
GREAT BARRIER REEF TO’S PLAY ROLE IN DOPHONE RESEARCH
Working with Traditional Owner groups in Queensland, marine researchers from Southern Cross University and Flinders University are conducting a census of the different dolphin species found on the Great Barrier Reef.
