Unsettling video footage has surfaced showing a seven-year-old  Aboriginal child being served by police with a violent restraining order that was wrongfully granted by a Western Australian court.

OUTRAGE FOLLOWS REVELATIONS OF IMPROPER WELFARE CHECKS ON CLEVELAND DODD

Justice advocates are calling for accountability following revelations that welfare checks were not performed properly on Cleveland Dodd, the 16-year-old who died in custody last month.

MINISTER SAYS HE GOT IT WRONG IN REGARDS TO UNIT 18 

The minister of Corrective Services, Paul Papalia, has acknowledged that he gave false information when he applauded the actions of the adolescent detention staff in the wake of the 16-year-old youth who fatally self-harmed himself in the infamous Unit 18 of Casuarina Prison.

CBAA AWARD WINNERS

The Community Broadcasting Association of Australia held its annual conference in Kaurna ngurra in Adelaide over the weekend. 

Ngaarda Media was a finalist in four categories and congratulated the following winners.

Wangki Yupurnanupurru radio won the Excellence in Indigenous Broadcasting category and 3knd Kook N Deadly took out the ‘Excellence in Training award.

ROEBOURNE WOMEN’S BUSINESS EVENT COMING TO IERAMAGADU

First Nations women in Ieramagadu/Roebourne will have opportunities to develop business and leadership skills this week.

An ‘Empowering Women Leaders’ workshop will take place at Roebourne PCYC Hall on Thursday, and an ‘Ideas to Income’ workshop on Friday.
