NEW LANGUAGE VIDEOS FOR VOTERS

The WA Electoral Commission has made short videos for North West Central voters in Western Desert communities to help them vote at the coming by election.

Staff have sent short YouTube videos in Martu Wangka, Ngaanyatjarra, and Wangkatja to the communities, and an Auslan version is also available for hearing impaired voters.

The North West Central electorate stretches from Pannawonica in the north to Kalbarri in the South, and inland to the state border.

WA electoral commissioner Robert Kennedy said the videos had already been sent to the communities, and Electoral Commission staff would have them available to voters when the mobile polling booth visited.

”The aim is to have them on the laptops that our team will have with them so that they can play them when they are going around to those communities,” he said.
