A new driver training website for Indigenous Australians has been revealed by the Wunan Foundation and iYarn organization.

The website aims to create an easy and culturally inclusive space for Indigenous Australians to get their driver's license.

Kununurra-based Aboriginal organisation, Wunan Foundation, has partnered with iYarn, to deliver high-quality education and training that is tailored to the unique needs and cultural backgrounds of each individual to attain their driver’s license.

Corporate Services General Manager of Wunan Foundation Michelle Bailey hopes to address potential barriers faced by Indigenous learner drivers when obtaining their licenses.

“What it does, is it gives us the ability to provide assistance to driver participants, to make it easier for them to learn the road rules, and practice in a suitable car, because we have the vehicles to support that so that you get the automatic licensee or the manual,’’ she said.

‘‘We can also assist in covering the cost of getting a driver’s license.’’
