LOCAL MAN FACES COURT OVER ROEBOURNE STATUE VANDALISM
A man faced Karratha Magistrate’s Court yesterday for allegedly vandalising three statues at Roebourne’s Mount Welcome lookout.
Roebourne local Mr Munda was charged with criminal damage for the destruction of the statues which allegedly occurred between the 6th and 7th of January.
Mr Munda did not enter a plea and the matter was adjourned until March 21st.
The damaged Mount Welcome statues, representing the Ngarluma, Yindjibarndi and Mardudhunera language groups, were recovered by police in late January and reinstalled early last month.
