INTERVIEW: STOLEN YAWURU REMAINS RETURNED TO WESTERN AUSTRALIA
The remains of a Yawuru man from Roebuck Bay in the Kimberley have been returned to Australia, after being held in an American museum for more than 130 years.
The remains were stolen and held in a collection at the Smithsonian Museum in Washington, DC.
A repatriation ceremony was held at the WA Museum last week, where the remains are to be held until a permanent home can be found on Yawuru country.
