INNOVATION COMPETITION TO REWARD PROBLEM SOLVING

A government-supported competition is calling on Australians of all ages to come up with solutions to the country’s most serious problems.

The Australian innovation competition is offering five prizes of up to $30,000 each, for solutions to everything from housing to poverty, to climate change.

Skills and Innovation General Manager Kylah Morrison says the competition is keen to tap into regional talent.

“We know that when you don’t have access to networks and materials like you do in the city centres, you often are more innovative,” she said.

“Those are the ones we want to shine a light on.

“We know that in the Indigenous culture in particular, there’s 60,000 years of adapting and evolving with the land.”

Entries close 31 August. Find out more here.
