The national PULiiMA Conference winds up today, having taken place on Larrakia Country in Darwin since Monday.

The event focuses on ways to use technology to strengthen and preserve Indigenous languages.

PULiiMA is held every two years in different locations around Australia to give Indigenous language speakers and experts a chance to network.

Linguist Bethia Blond attended the conference and said it had great learning opportunities for professionals.

“A lot of people will be coming away with some technical skills because, at the start of the conference, there were two days of workshops that were full-day or half-way workshops, where people were teaching [skills like] teaching how to write a digital book or teaching mathematics using language,” Ms Blond said.
