Artists in Roebourne have been experimenting in clay with a visiting potter.
Fremantle ceramic artist Sandra Black has been running workshops at the Yinjaai-Barni Art group.
She said the local artists were producing remarkable work after only two days of using clay.
“We’ve done a technique called pinch pots, where we take the soft clay, hold it in our hands and pinch it, and make little vessels out of that,” Ms Black said.
“We’ve also been rolling out slabs of clay, a bit like rolling out dough, and making some bowls and plates.
“Today, we’re painting with special colours which will be fired onto the pots.”
