HERITAGE GRINDSTONES RETURNED TO COUNTRY

A Geraldton woman who found a pair of grindstones on an Albany beach more than 70 years ago said she had a happy experience returning them to Country.

She was prompted to do so by her friend Ursula Clarke.

Jessie Russ said she was glad she had found the stones all those years ago, and glad she had now returned them.

Their comments came after a controversial auction of Aboriginal artefacts in Perth last week.
