HEAVY HAULAGE GIRLS FINALIST IN INTERNATIONAL AWARDS

The women-only freight business Pilbara Heavy Haulage Girls is in the running to take out a prestigious international award.

Founder Heather Jones said the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport was for all aspects of the transport industry, not just trucking.

“This is an international organisation so some of the finalists are not from Australia they’re from overseas,” she said. “There’s a whole lot of different categories as well. There’s four of us females in this category.”

The winners are to be announced on Tuesday.
