CITY OF KARRATHA RESPONDS TO ANZAC DAY TRUCK INCIDENT

The City of Karratha has responded to an incident that occurred on ANZAC Day when a local Dawn Service was interrupted by the path of an oncoming vehicle.

Two semi trucks and a vehicle towing a trailer were allowed to drive through the Dawn Service in the Pilbara town of Roebourne, while the bugle played the ‘Last Post’.

A spokesperson from the city said that Anzac Day services are not organised by the city of Karratha, but that it does provide some support.

The city claimed it had applied for full road closure prior to the event, but that it was not approved by Main Roads and so the lane was required to be open.
