The East Kimberley Football league is facing growing calls to split into a north and south division.

The calls come as travel times for players to get to games can take up to four hours one way, in some cases over vast areas.

President of the Wyndham Crocs Football Club Scott Timms supports the move and says it would help players.

‘‘The travel will be reduced significantly’’, he said.

‘‘We last year had the potential to play seven games in Halls Creek, and Halls Creek is 400 KMs away from Wyndham, which is at least hours of driving.

‘‘Plus the two and a bit hours you play of football, and then everything in between, getting ready the hour before the game and all the rest of it it’s a pretty big ask for volunteers. And for Football it’s been tough.’’
