Over 47 2wd cars are headed across the red dust and ancient landscapes of Pilbara for the Variety Bash to fundraise money for children with disabilities.

This year, the 8-day procession of brightly painted and themed cars will travel right into the heart of the Pilbara, starting in Dampier, and going inland to Marble Bar, and finishing lastly at Exmouth.

Some of the car themes included men in black, three pigs, and scooby doo.

Bubble’s car owner and fundraiser Joanne Green has raised $26 000 towards charity and said the group has made a great effort.

“The cops and robbers have raised $50 000”.

According to Variety, since the event commenced the charity has raised $23 million.

Green bought the car in Roebourne in 2020 and built it up with major sponsors including Karratha panel and paint, signs west, and other businesses in the Pilbara.

“The children are loving it… We have a bubble machine that we have fitted to the back of the car”.

All money goes towards Variety Australia, a national charity that is helping kids who are living with disabilities.

The Variety Bash is an annual event with routes taken changing every year.
