Woodside is celebrating its 70th anniversary as an Australian Company. With many opportunities across gas, oil, and new energy, Woodside provides many opportunities and career paths for Indigenous people.

Woodside Energy is a major contributor to the Australian economy. Over the years, many indigenous people have found employment with Woodside.

Among them is Ryan Cobb, who is now a Master mariner, piloting the big LNG tankers in and out of the harbour at Dampier.

‘‘What makes me proud of being at  Woodside is it's multifaceted, really. I mean the fact that they provide me with the framework and continually challenge me in a positive manner to pursue my career path”.

Ryan Cobb has been working for Woodside for nearly 20 years and started his career back in 2006. Woodside sponsored Mr Cobb's marine traineeship, which allowed him to begin his training with Fast Ed Shipping.

Mr Cobbs's journey has been full of learning and upskilling within his merchant marine career. A highlight of his career is driving very large ships and putting them through their Paces.

‘’We have a modern Fleet of high-powered tugs. So, getting tugs working hard and safely but effectively maneuvering 300-meter-long LNG carries is great fun, you know’’.

Ryan looks forward to more indigenous people joining woodside energy and starting a fulfilling career.
