WICKHAM WOLVES PLAYER SCORES FIRST GOAL THIS SEASON
Women’s footy is gaining popularity in the Pilbara and over the weekend the Wickham Wolves beat the Karratha Falcons after five years. The score was 6-3-39 to the Wolves and 3-3-21 to the Falcons.
Wolves player, Giovanna Siale was thrilled to get her first goal of the season.
“It was a bit full on, there was lots of play around and I think it was in the third quarter. I was kicking against the breeze, she said. It was so weird because we were all crowded in the ‘goal square. I must have got a hand pass from one of the girls. There were so many people in front of me. I think I stepped in a couple of people and kicked it straight in. I was gobsmacked. That was my first goal of the season.”
The Wickham Wolves have won the last three games this season and they are looking forward to playing against the South Hedland Swans next week in Hedland.
