TIDY TOWNS COMPETITON HELD IN GASCOYNE JUNCTION

Last weekend was the awards ceremony for the 2024 Tidy Towns competition was held in Gascoyne Junction.

36 finalists from all around Australia were finalists for Tidy Towns came together representing their towns and regions.

Rennee Simone Turner, from Yinggarda Country, hosted the participants.

She said it was amazing to show them the backyard we all call home and also show what our town has to offer to them.

“It is some of the oldest Earth on the planet, so rich in culture,

”We've got everything. We've got the ocean. You know we go from the ocean all the way out to our beautiful Bush.”

Ms Turner said this is a great opportunity for people such as myself being able to get people to take off that City dust out of their eyes and take a look at countries through a traditional lens
