THE NGAARDAWILA HOUR: SPECIAL YULE RIVER EDITION

We have a special Yule River edition of the Ngaardawila Hour today.

The Yule River is on Kariyarra country in between Port Hedland and Roebourne in the Pilbara.

The annual Yule River On-Country meeting took place on Wednesday and Thursday, after being cancelled for two years because of Covid.

Aboriginal people from across the Pilbara gathered to speak to each other and with government representatives.

On today’s show, you’ll hear from some of the community members who voiced their opinions at Yule River.

I’m glad that I participated in the meeting yesterday.

It was great to be out on country, meet up with family members and learn from Traditional Owners.

It was also good to hear from government representatives about what they had to offer.
