A program led by Curtin University is helping to foster Indigenous businesses and industry in Western Australia.

The Healing Country Program is a collaboration between the Australian Research Council and Curtin, Murdoch, and WA Universities.

The Healing Council aims to create viable and environmentally friendly Indigenous businesses that can turn a profit.

Australian Research Council Deputy Director Andrew Knight is helping to lead the project and says it aims to combine Indigenous and Western knowledge.

Our goal is to bring together traditional ecological knowledge, or cultural knowledge from Aboriginal communities with Western science,” he said.
