In the Pilbara, a security company is holding a competition to come up with a locally-designed First Nations logo, in partnership with Ngaarda Media.

G4S is a global company that operates security for oil and gas facilities in the Pilbara.

First Nations Engagement Lead and Dharug man Baydon Widdicombe said the competition is open to Pilbara residents.

“We want a local story associated with the design, and obviously creativity will also be looked at,” Mr Widdicombe said.

The first-prize winner will receive a $2000 prize and a framed copy of their winning design.

“There’s a selection panel, and that’ll be made of two G4S representatives, and also two Elders in the Karratha region,” Mr Widdicombe said.
