ROEBOURNE STATUES REINSTALLED
The Ngarluma, Yindjibarndi and Mardudhunera statues at Mount Welcome have been restored.
The Ngarluma, Yindjibarndi and Marthudhunera statues at Mount Welcome in Roebourne are looking out proudly over their ngurra once more.
The statues were reinstalled by the City of Karratha last week after the lookout was vandalised in January.
The statues were first installed in 2016, alongside statues representing the Banjima, Kurruma, Yaburara and Kariyarra peoples.
Each statue is facing towards its language group’s country.
