ROEBOURNE PRISONERS TO GET AIR CONDITIONING

The state government has announced $10 million in funding to upgrade air conditioning at Roebourne Regional Prison to include all cells.

The decision follows years of the local community, legal experts and human rights advocates asking for air conditioning to be installed throughout the prison.

The government says installation is not expected to be completed until 2023 or 2024.

Earlier this year, the temperature in Roebourne exceeded 50 degrees celsius.
