ROEBOURNE COMMUNITY MEMBERS EXPERIMENT WITH VIRTUAL WORLDS

Students from Roebourne District High School enter virtual worlds in the Ngaarda Media gym.

Yesterday, Roebourne residents and Ngaarda Media team members were immersed in virtual worlds and began learning about 360° film-making.

This project was funded by the Community Broadcasting Foundation in 2020 but was put on hold due to covid restricitons.

Yesterday, participants brainstormed story ideas, experimented with 3D painting using VR headsets, and began filming 360° vision.

For the rest of the week, the group, including students from Roebourne District High School, will work on presenting stories from Ngarluma ngurra using virtual reality and augmented reality technologies.
