ROEBOURNE ANZAC GOING AHEAD

Despite the RSL in Karratha cancelling this year’s Anzac Day observance, Roebourne is to go ahead with the usual events.

Roebourne Anzac Day committee member Ian Cullen said the March and Dawn Service would proceed as usual.

He said the muster would be in Roebourne’s main street at 5.55 for a march at 6am, and COVID precautions would be taken.

"We've had to put some controls in place so we'll just have to maintain a bit of social distancing where possible," he said. "It shouldn't be too hard, it's an outdoor event, there'll be hand santiser available and also a registration so you can register for contact tracing. Also if you're feeling unwell please don't attend and the gunfire breakfast at Roebourne won't be going ahead this year but the OBs will be having their event out at Wickham from mid day onwards."

People wishing to lay a wreath are asked to contact Mr Cullen beforehand.
