REMOTE VOTING UNDERWAY IN IERAMAGADU AND ACROSS AUSTRALIA
Remote voting is underway throughout Australia for the Voice to Parliament referendum.
In Ieramagadu/Roebourne, remote polling will take place today at the North Regional TAFE Minurmarghali Mia campus until 3 pm.
From yesterday, the Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) began running booths in Western Australia.
All up, there will be 109 remote polling booths ran across the state on different days.
A complete list of remote voter services is available on the AEC website.
Electoral Commissioner Tom Rogers said providing remote voter services was a complex endeavour.
“Australia’s electoral events are unique - the geography is huge and the effort our teams go to in order to provide people with an in-person service is world-leading,” Mr Rogers said.
“The AEC’s distinct purple vest is out and about across this vast geography we all call home and they’re delivering democracy - it is fabulous to see it in full flight again and bigger than it has ever been.”
If you’re in Ieramagadu and want to vote early in the referendum, head to Minurmarghali Mia today.
You can also submit a postal vote or vote on 14 October.
Roebourne’s Yaandina Community Centre will be one of many polling places across the country on that day.
For full details of all options, head to the AEC website.
