POWER OUTAGES CLOSE KARRATHA SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL

Karratha Senior High School was closed during the week for serveral days due to power outages.

Director of Education Pilbara, Cheryl Parkin said “Generators have been delivered and are currently being installed at Karratha Senior High School to restore power.

“Whilst the aim is to have students and staff return to normal school operations tomorrow, Friday 25 March, this is subject to the temporary power being established.

“Year 11 and 12 students and education support students are currently learning in thirteen classrooms serviced with power from the nearby TAFE site and all other students are learning online from home through Connect.

“Parents have been notified of the current arrangements and are encouraged to contact the school on 0457 145 072 with any questions regarding their child’s learning.

“I’m advised the regular power supply is anticipated to be restored early next week.

“I’d like to thank students and their families for their support during this time.”
