POLICE ADVICE: HOW TO PREVENT JUVENILE CRIME
As Operation Heat Shield continues, the Kimberley’s top cop has some advice for people who are worried about a young family member who might be tempted into crime.
Check their mobile phones.
Superintendent Craig Parkin said if a child was getting interested in criminal activity, it was better to step in before they got locked up.
He said police were happy to meet family members such as parents who found criminal activity on their kids’ phones.
Supt Parkin spoke to Ngaarda Media’s Geoff Vivian after the first month of the special police operation saw 600 children picked up by Kimberley police.
