PILBARA OT CALLS FOR MORE LANGUAGE RESOURCES
An occupational therapist who previously worked in the Kimberley region says she had more access to language resources there than she does in the Pilbara.
Occupational therapist Alice Mckeon’s job often requires communicating with disabled people, to work out how best to help them.
That’s only made more difficult when Indigenous clients don’t speak English as a first language.
Ms Mckeon spoke to Conrad Maclean about the language resources available in the Pilbara compared to the Kimberley.
